Dear Laurel Ridge Skating Club Members and Parents,
The 2011- 2012 membership drive is underway and with your support, we hope to continue our growing trend!
Membership through USFSA and Laurel Ridge Skating Club begins on July 1, 2011, and continues through June 30, 2012. All current memberships will expire on June 30, 2011. The membership renewal form is attached. Please review it carefully, fill it in, and return it to the address listed on the form, along with your check. We strongly encourage you to include your e-mail address as this is our primary means of communication with members. Please note, the membership form includes a check-off box for a permission letter. This letter can be included with test and competition applications. If requested, it will be sent to you signed, but void of specific dates so you will need to make blank copies and fill in specific event details. If there is a possibility that you/your skater will be testing, competing, or participating in out-of-club shows/exhibitions, please request this letter. Again with the increasing size of our club, it would be more efficient if you/your skater had this letter on hand for testing, competing or participating in an out of club event.
The board of directors is pleased and excited to announce that the club will host a competition to be held at the Danbury Ice Arena in March of 2012! The Laurel Ridge Open Figure Skating Competition will benefit the USFSA Memorial Fund, with a portion of each entry fee sent directly to the Memorial Fund on behalf of Laurel Ridge Skating Club and the competitors. More information will be forthcoming. However, it is important to mention that your help will be needed in order to make this competition a success. If you or your skater is planning to compete, please consider volunteering some time to help with the competition, a check off box is included on the membership form.
The Laurel Ridge Skating Club is committed to providing you/your skater with a positive skating club experience and is proud of our skaters’ accomplishment. We wish you a successful skating season and are proud to serve as your board of directors.
