Laurel Ridge Skating Club at Games of America 2009
The Games of America were held in Colorado Springs, CO this year from July 28 through August 3 and attracted 10,312 athletes from 48 states; of which 924 took part in the Figure Skating Competitions. As a result of medals won during the 2008 Nutmeg State Games, Oliva Awe, Brett Bohrman, Brianne Bohrman, Megan Belgrave, Yves Fore, Stephanie Gabriele, Biana Plantamura and Ava Sloboda were invited to compete against figure skaters from around the country. 
They brought home the folowing medals:
Ava Sloboda:
- Bronze, preliminary compulsory moves;
- Silver, bronze footwork;
- Silver, prepreliminary unrestricted freeskate;
- Bronze, silver artistic
Yves Fore:
- Gold, men's unrestricted bronze freeskate
Claire Tensa:
- Bronze, restricted preliminary freeskate
The Games of America are held every other year and the next games will be in San Diego, CA from August 4 through 11, 2011.
